The server checks the request
The receiving application needs its own validation and spam protections. Browser checks improve the experience, but they do not replace the rules on the server.
The record needs to arrive
A successful form response should correspond to the intended stored or delivered result. If an email notification is separate, failure there should not be confused with a missing saved inquiry.
Someone needs to act on it
Agree on who reviews the inquiry, how the source is identified and how exceptions are noticed. Test with a clearly labeled synthetic message and avoid sending it to real third parties without authorization.
